DeBruler earns Big Ten weekly honor in volleyball.
PARK RIDGE — Laura DeBruler was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week in volleyball on Monday after leading Illinois to victories against Michigan and Michigan State last weekend at Huff Hall.
CHAMPAIGN – Laura DeBruler pounded 15 kills, Johannah Bangert chipped in eight blocks and the Illini volleyball team won its 11th straight match, 25-19, 25-12, 25-19 against Michigan State on Saturday night.
Next up for the fifth-ranked Illini: a trip to No. 1 Penn State, winner of 91 consecutive matches.
CHAMPAIGN – It apparently will take more than a season-ending injury to its career digs leader to slow down the Illinois volleyball express.
