Dasso guides squad to first place  (Tuesday, December 15, 2009)

POITIERS, France — Illinois women's tennis coach Michelle Dasso and
Boise State men's tennis coach Greg Patton helped lead the United States to first place at the fourth annual Master'U BNP Paribas Dec. 9-13.

The tournament featured top collegiate players from around the world. The United States defeated France 4-3 to claim its first
championship at the tournament.

Langley in All-American Classic  (Thursday, November 19, 2009)

CHAMPAIGN — Illinois junior Scott Langley will become the first Illini golfer to compete in the Western Refining All-American Golf Classic. The tournament, which includes 32 All-Americans from the 2008-09 season, begins Sunday at the El Paso (Texas) Country Club. The event began in 1974, and past champions include Tiger Woods, Davis Love III and David Duval.

Spring adds elite gymnasts  (Tuesday, November 17, 2009)

URBANA — Two members of the U.S. Junior National Team recently signed national letters of intent with the Illinois men’s gymnastics program.
C.J. Maestas of Corrales, N.M., and Cameron Rogers of Mint Hill, N.C., will join coach Justin Spring’s team next season.

Bizzarri reaching her peak  (Saturday, November 14, 2009)

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Angela Bizzarri was at her best Saturday. Her Illinois teammates weren't too shabby, either.

Volleyball sweeps Spartans  (Saturday, November 7, 2009)

CHAMPAIGN – Laura DeBruler pounded 15 kills, Johannah Bangert chipped in eight blocks and the Illini volleyball team won its 11th straight match, 25-19, 25-12, 25-19 against Michigan State on Saturday night.

Next up for the fifth-ranked Illini: a trip to No. 1 Penn State, winner of 91 consecutive matches.

Nevolo opens indoor nationals with win  (Thursday, November 5, 2009)

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Illinois’ Dennis Nevolo defeated South Carolina’s Diego Cubas 6-1, 6-2 Thursday in the opening round of the ITA National Indoor Championships.

In doubles, Nevolo and teammate Marek Czerwinski opened with an 8-6 loss to the third-seeded tandem of Bradley Klahn and Ryan Thacher of Stanford.
