URBANA – A day after defeating Toledo and Ball State, the No. 15 Illinois men's tennis team kept the momentum going with a 6-1 rout of No. 14 Pepperdine on Saturday at Atkins Tennis Center.

The Illini claimed all three doubles matches before No. 101 Marc Spicijaric upset Pepperdine's 57th-ranked Mahmoud Kamel in straight sets in singles action.

Wrestlers pound Pitt  (Sunday, January 11, 2009)

B.J. Futrell (125 pounds) scored a pin for the Illini, and Jimmy Kennedy (133) and Mike Poeta (157) recorded major decisions.

Swimmers in fourth  (Saturday, January 10, 2009)

Marissa Clapp placed fifth in the 400-yard individual medley to lead Illinois to fourth place after the opening day of the Indiana Invitational in Bloomington, Ind. Clapp, a former Bismarck-Henning standout, was timed in 4 minutes, 23.05 seconds.

Kennedy tops in Las Vegas  (Sunday, December 7, 2008)

LAS VEGAS – Third-ranked Illinois junior Jimmy Kennedy beat Boise State's Andrew Hochstrasser to win the 133-pound title Saturday at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational.

The 6-4 victory moved Kennedy's record to 9-0 this season.
