Another day, another meet record for Erin Didde.
The University of Illinois sophomore was in rare form at this weekend''s Big Ten Quad Meet in Minneapolis, swimming to meet records on Friday and Saturday.
Her latest chart-topper came in the 200-yard backstroke, the Stephen Decatur product winning in 2 minutes, 0.93 second. On Friday, Didde set a record while winning the 100 back.
"This was a great meet," UI women''s swimming and diving coach Jim Lutz said. "The ladies did a great job, and I couldn''t be more pleased. This sets us up real well going into the Big Ten (Championships) in three weeks."
Emily Wang, who set a meet record in the 200 freestyle on Friday, swam a leg on the UI''s winning 400 free relay team Saturday. Wang, Lindsey Ward, Jennifer Sands and Tracy Bollinger finished in 3:28.24.
As a team, No. 23 Illinois finished 1-1 against ranked competition from the Big Ten.
The Illini beat No. 22 Wisconsin 207-137 and lost to No. 9 Minnesota 219-130. The Illini also topped Purdue 206-146.
Along the way, Wang (200 free) and the 800 free relay team of Nicola Homenock, Ward, Wang and Sands earned NCAA consideration.
The Illini are off until the Big Ten meet Feb. 20-22 in Indianapolis.
