Ask Klee about GameDay here

News you can't leave work without:

Cubs rookie pitcher Randy Wells grew up an Illinois fan.

On Feb. 6, the Belleville native will be surrounded by orange and blue as the marquee speaker at UI baseball's annual Hot Stove Banquet in C-U.

Wells, who won 12 games last season, is the younger brother of former Illini Forry Wells. After his speaking engagement — the event is open to the public; tickets go on sale in December — Wells is expected to attend that night's Michigan State-Illinois basketball game at the Assembly Hall.

The game against the Spartans marks the first appearance at Illinois of ESPN's College GameDay.
