CHAMPAIGN - Illinois senior Chester Frazier sustained a hand injury during the team's practice session today.
For the time being, coaches and the athletics training staff are calling the injury a severely bruised hand. As the Illini finished practice, Frazier wore a brace on his right hand and wrist and appeared to be in considerable pain.
Second-seeded Illinois (23-8) opens the Big Ten tournament Friday. Coach Bruce Weber said he's uncertain of Frazier's status until further evaluation. The guard is expected to undergo X-rays today or Thursday.
Frazier has started all 31 games and is averaging a team-high 33.2 minutes for Illinois, which has used the same starting lineup in 29 consecutive games.

Well, the whole thing about playing without Chester might have to come early...Maybe the rest of our games will be offensive juggernauts without the stylings of our Defensive Player of the Year.
