CHAMPAIGN – Minnesota's offense kept Illini keeper Alexandra Kapicka busy Sunday during the Illinois soccer team's Big Ten opener.

Kapicka turned away seven shots, and Christina Sahly and Jackie Santacaterina scored goals as the Illini and Gophers tied 2-2.

ATLANTA — Sean O'Hair got a putting tip from Tiger Woods and put it to good use Thursday in the Tour Championship, opening with a 4-under 66 to take a one-shot lead in the final FedEx Cup playoff event.

Women golfers finish fifth  (Wednesday, September 23, 2009)

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. — Kaitlyn Wampler shot a 3-over-par 75 to lead the Illinois women’s golf team to a fifth-place finish in the Ron Moore Intercollegiate on Wednesday.
The Illini sophomore carded a 54-hole total of 224, 9 strokes behind medalist Stephanie Sherlock of Denver. Sophomore Samantha Sloan was the UI’s No. 2 scorer, shooting a final-round 74 to tie for 23rd at 232.

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. — Illinois sophomore golfer Kaitlyn Wampler carded a second-round 72 to lift her team into fourth place Tuesday at the Ron Moore Women’s Intercollegiate outside Denver.
