News you can't leave work without:

Even though the football regular season doesn't end until Dec. 5, All-Big Ten voting wraps up this weekend.

Ballots are due Sunday. Illinois, out of bowl consideration, might not have a player make the first team for the first time since 2005.

HQ beat writer Bob Asmussen has a vote.

"I think Jon Asamoah has a chance just because of the national recognition he has received," Asmussen said. "He's considered a high pick in the draft and that always seems to favor the lineman especially."

Asmussen also said Terry Hawthorne has a chance to finish high in the Freshman of the Year voting.
