SAN DIEGO — The San Diego Chargers signed rookie linebacker James Holt from the practice squad to fill the roster spot created when receiver Chris Chambers was released.

The Chargers signed former Illini linebacker J Leman to the practice squad.

Holt originally joined the Chargers in May as a free agent. He was released at the conclusion of training camp and added to the practice squad.

The Chargers need a linebacker because Tim Dobbins is expected to be out for two weeks after suffering a knee injury in Sunday's 24-16 win against Oakland.
