CHAMPAIGN — A week after winning the NCAA championship in the 5,000-meter run, Illinois junior Angela Bizzarri was named a second-team Academic All-American by ESPN the Magazine.
The Mason, Ohio, native holds a 3.55 grade-point average in molecular and cellular biology. She is the first Illinois track and field or cross-country athlete to be recognized by ESPN the Magazine since Cassie Hunt in 2006.
