Open Mat News reports that Illinois has received a verbal commitment from Jamie Clark of Lakewood, Ohio.  Clark is considered one of the top wrestlers projected to wrestle at 133 pounds in the class of 2010.  A quote from within the article by Clark:

'"Illinois has a nice, small campus.  I fit in really well there.  I know some of the guys already on the team.  And I really love the coaching staff."

Clark wrestles for national powerhouse St. Edward's near Cleveland.  He already has two Ohio state titles on his resume, including last season at 119 pounds.  He anticipates wrestling at 130 pounds in his senior season at St. Edward's.

Clark joins Jackson Morse of Lowell, Michigan as a verbal commitment to the Illini in the class of 2010.  Morse is wrestling at 152 pounds this season, and is projected to begin his career at 157 pounds for the Illini next season.  Morse is considered the top wrestler in the state of Michigan in his class by several ranking services.
