New feature on HQ

Our folks in the IT department have come up with a fun feature for IlliniHQ. It's called Whack-A-Redbird, this week. In two weeks, it will be Whack-A-Buckeye. Then, Whack-A-Nittany Lion, etc.

Dick Detzner came up with the idea and has been working for a while to get it right. How do you play: Using your mouse, you click on the football players as they pop out of holes in the football field. At the end of 30 seconds, you get your score posted. It's pretty addictive.

Currently, it's being sponsored by The News-Gazette. Hopefully, some smart business owner will get his or her company attached to it. As far as we're concerned, it's a permanent feature of HQ. And will extend into the basketball season.

Wouldn't you want to play Whack-A-Hoosier?
