No. 14: Georgia

Why I like the Bulldogs: Seven starters are back on offense, including the entire line and two receivers. It's even better on defense, where eight starters return. The top tackler in 2008, linebacker Rennie Curran, is back. So are the No. 2 and No. 3 tacklers from 2008. The overwhelming expectations of 2008 aren't there, giving Mark Richt's team a chance to play with less pressure. The Bulldogs are coming off an impressive 24-12 Capital One Bowl win against Michigan State. That game took the sting away from the disappointing season and had the Bulldogs feeling good about themselves going into the spring. Though he hasn't been able to win the big game, Richt is still 82-22 at Georgia and has a 6-2 bowl record. Any school would take that.

Why I don't: Matthew Stafford is now trying to figure out how to survive as a Detroit Lion. Knowshon Moreno is gone too. When your two best offensive players move on, there is no way to replace them. We think the Bulldogs will be fine at quarterback and tailback, but we don't know for sure. Not only did Georgia lose to Georgia Tech, Florida and Alabama, it has close wins against a handful of lesser teams. The opener is nasty, with the Bulldogs traveling to Stillwater to play the Boone Pickens Cowboys. Oklahoma State will remember the 21-point loss at Georgia in 2007. There are five other road games, including the annual Jacksonville funfest against preseason No. 1 Florida.
