No. 15: Georgia Tech

Why I like the Yellow Jackets: The option offense is unusual, which gives Georgia Tech a huge advantage. Opponents prepare for the offense once a year. Paul Johnson pulled a shocker in his first season, guiding the team to nine wins. The confidence in Atlanta has to be off the charts. The team welcomes back quarterback Josh Nesbitt. Even more important, ACC leading rusher Jonathan Dwyer returns after gaining 1,395 yards and scoring 12 touchdowns last season. Two other starting running backs and a pair of starting receivers return. So does three-fifths of the offensive line. The Yellow Jackets are going to eat up yards in chunks. All the linebackers and defensive backs return for a defense that was 25th nationally. The nonconference schedule is friendly except for the annual finale against Georgia. And that one is in Atlanta.

Why I don't: Sometimes, you need to complete a pass. And Georgia Tech wasn't very good at it last year, finishing 116th in the nation. If Georgia Tech gets behind, it has a problem. The conference schedule includes difficult trips to Miami and Florida State. And Georgia Tech has to play Virginia Tech after consecutive road trips. Johnson's  offense was a hit in 2008. Opponents should have a better idea how to stop it in Year 2. The defensive line lost three of four starters.
