Report on cost of Illini student tickets

Posted by: Paul Klee

If the rest of this report is accurate, Illinois students pay about the norm - among Big Ten schools - for basketball tickets, according to an Oklahoma news station. Then again, I'm not sure how accurate it is, because the UI ticket office just told me a student season ticket goes for $156, and the report says a season ticket costs $133. (And that's one reason Klee appreciates the UI ticket office, for it's honesty and quick response time.)

So take the report for what it's worth. But if the rest of the numbers are accurate, an Illinois student ticket is the ninth-most expensive season ticket among the 63 programs in the six power conferences. If it makes Illini fans feel any better, Indiana has the second-most expensive student ticket, according to the report.

- Illinois plays at Ohio State on Sunday. Ohio State athletics director Gene Smith is on the NCAA tournament selection committee.

- Entertaining interview with Brandon Paul from the Daily Herald. He's not kidding about his text messaging abilities, either. The Illinois recruit glady participated in a Texting with Klee segment, with the questions and answers delivered via text message.

I assume the Illinin will do better Sunday before a home televised game. If they are on BTN they seem lack luster if no one in the area is watching them. When are the big guys going to start (stuffing) the ball instead of getting it blocked from behind trying to do a baby kiss off the glass. Come on guys it cost alot of money for tickets, gas, and loding just to come see you play.!!
